Install your eSIM with a QR Code: We'll email you an eSIM QR code for you to scan directly, or you can install it instantly to your device within the ZenSim app. Your usage and daily limit will only start when you actually arrive at your destination.
Instant Connectivity: Connect to mobile data the moment you land in your destination. No walking around like a zombie at the airport trying to purchase or install a plastic sim.

Can I install My eSIM before travelling?

You bet! Install your eSIM before you take off, and don’t worry-the data plan won’t start until you’ve arrived.

Pre-Installation: Set it up before your trip, perfect if you’re avoiding last-minute WiFi hunts or queues for SIMs at the airport.
Pending State: Your eSIM stays inactive until you arrive.
Automatic Activation: Connect the second you touch down, so you’re online right away!

I bought an eSIM but my device doesn't support it... What do I do?

How to use a travel eSIM?

Using a travel eSIM is straightforward. After purchasing and installing, you can easily enable or disable the eSIM directly from your phone settings. The ZenSim app provides additional management features, allowing you to monitor your data usage, top up if needed, and control your connectivity with just a few taps.

When should I install the travel eSIM?

Here's what we suggest:

Pre-Trip Setup: Install your eSIM a few days (or really, anytime) before you leave. You can even install it at the airport - just remember you'll need WiFi to install it.
Automatic Activation: Your data plan kicks in the moment you arrive at your destination.
Stay Connected: Use the ZenSim app to track usage and manage your plan throughout your trip.

How do I know if my phone can use a travel eSIM?

ZenSim travel eSIMs are compatible with a wide range of modern phones. The easiest thing to do is to use our eSIM compatibility checker to see if your device is supported.

Can I top up my eSIM?

Yep! 99% of our eSIMs can be topped up within the ZenSim app with just a couple of clicks. If you run out of data, need more days, or you even want to add a new destination to the same eSIM, you can do all of this in the top up section in the Zen Garden in the app.

Log into the app, navigate to the Zen Garden, and you will see a button to to up your eSIM right there.

Top up plan options: Top up plans are the same as the plans on the website except with a 10% discount!

Extending a long trip: If you're travelling for more than 30 days, you can add as many top ups as you need to your first eSIM to extend the days and data you have. Each top up will only take effect when the previous eSIM is expired so you can purchase the top ups any time you want without worrying about overwriting your existing plan.

Multi country top ups: You can now add multiple countries to most of our eSIMs via top up, so if you're in Europe for example and are stopping over in Dubai on the way home, you can add a Dubai top up to your Europe eSIM so you don't need to reinstall anything. Alternate country top ups will only activate when you arrive in the new country.

Do I need to turn off my phone's data plan when using a travel eSIM?

Not really! But here’s the deal: most phones let you choose which eSIM handles your data. So, if you’re rocking multiple eSIMs, just make sure your travel eSIM is in charge of data. And if you’re expecting calls or texts on your regular plan, no worries-just turn off its data to avoid surprise charges - unless you're with ZenSim then you never have to worry about surprise charges 😉

Can I have multiple eSIMs active?

This is phone dependent but most modern phones allow multiple eSIMs to be active simultaneously. Some slightly older phones may only allow one physical and one eSIM to be active at the same time.
